Hi I am in need of some help here on a techniqe that will help me get a shot that I have been wanting to have the longest.
I want to get a shot of a stream of running water that has a smoke look to it. I have and will use the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT. With a 18-55mm leans. I need to know the steps on how to set the shutter speed.
Need a tip for a technique

Put the camera on a sturdy tripod with ISO set at the lowest the camera is capable of. Set the camera on shutter priority (S) and set the shutter speed very long, like a second or two to start. If there is too much light, look into using either a polarizer or neutral density filter, which will enable longer exposures by letting in less light.
