I guess I am showing my age here but somethings just do not make sense. Progress for the sake of progress without need or meaning seems senseless. What am I ranting about. TURNING DSLR'S INTO VIDEO CAMERA'S..... WHY?
I owned a video camera years ago. Got rid of it because every time you went to record a group of people they would just stop and smile at you look like a pack of store mannequins, When I point my DSLR at a group of people someone is always moving. Who am I to argue with universal truth.
I am not sure where that video camera is, around here somewhere. Not my thing and stopped taking pictures of people and went back to landscape etc. Much more pleasing and rocks don't move.
I can just picture it now with the arrival of the Video DSLR. I will be standing there setting up my tripod and camera to take a great landscape only to have some idiot run up with his new camera and start yelling at the pine trees to smile.
Now I know there are thousands of people smarter than I both in the production group and user group that can come up with thousands of reasons for this addition ( Biggest reason MONEY).
I am just a old guy who has taken pictures for 35 years plus all over North America and abroad what do I know. I still like and use 35mm as well as digital.
You know maybe I'll find that video camera take it out, set it up and see if a rock can smile.
