Moving threads to the correct forum

I wasn't sure where I should post this, but since it's something of a rant, I'll put it here in the SOAPBOX.

Doesn't anyone moderate these forums to keep them in order? I go to the 35mm SLR forums and find threads about digital cameras. The first impulse is of course to reply, "HEY MORON! WHAT PART OF 35MM DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND?", but a more tactful method would be to simply move the thread to its' proper place. Not only is it annoying to find these misplaced threads while browsing another topic, it also makes it less likely that the person who made the post will get an adequate response.

I suspect that the forum moderators have a bit more to do than just moderate the forums. I'm just happy they have time to trash the SPAM that keeps popping up. Relax and enjoy the ride.....

There probably would be more moderators willing to volunteer if it were not so thankless a job and one became such a target of undeserved abuse.

For some reason, it seems that the forums that George moderates are getting hit by spam. When the forums I moderate are spammed, I delete the thread immediately when I find out about it.

Same here, as soon as I see them. Will try be quicker about it. (By the way I just finished deleting 256 spam messages from my email.) I will call Dante to see if there is a circle of hell for these folks.

Only 256. I get over twice that number per day, but have a filtering system that handles about 98% of them so it's manageable.
