Mamiya AE Prism Finder N

I recently bought a Mamiya 645 Super second hand from a private seller. Overall I'm delighted with it BUT I have one problem: when using the AE Prism Finder N, the shutter intermittently fails to fire. This happens whether the shutter speed is set to AE or set manually (in fact, not sure that it's recognizing the AE shutter speed at all). If you remove the prism finder or use the WLF, the shutter fires fine. Any ideas? Does it just need a service or is the prism finder broken?

Make sure that the speed dial on the camera (not the finder), is set to the dot mark, and contacts between body and finder are clean.

Hi,
Be sure you are using a silver oxide battery in your camera, not an alkaline battery. This definately could be the problem. The added juice needed to run the meter can fowl up your shutter. Also, be sure to change the battery once a year. The Mamiya battery checker does not check for "load", only the current voltage.
Take it from one who learned the hard way.

had same problem until I figured out it is the battery. Doesn't last long in this camera for some reason
