OK, I'm going to bite the bullet and admit to some abysmal ignorance: If I burn a data CD-R on my PC (Windows XP Pro), will it be readable on a Mac?

I'm submitting a proposal to a gallery for a 2008 show, and it requires submitting images on a Mac-compatible CD. I've never had to worry about compatibility across different OS platforms before. Info on the Windows website seems to indicate that it will be compatible, but they don't specifically mention Apple products (well, of course not!). Can anyone confirm this?

Bill,

Selecting to burn a cd using the ISO 9660 standard will make a disk that works across all platforms; Windows, Mac, Linux. The drawback is in not being abel to use custom icons with the files. I use Toast on my Mac and it also gives the option of making a Windows-Mac crossplatform disk as well as a hybrid which lets you do some more fancy stuff. I also used to use Roxio's Windows software when I had an XP system and there was a burn selection there also to ensure compatability. Given all that, I can't think of a time when I've burned a cd using just standard settings on the XP machine and it wouldn't work on any Mac I tried.

Thanks - I'll go with the XP process....
