The short answer is not really--that is if you want good pictures. Most are 4 color--CYMK. There are photo quality
printers (6 colors or more) for under $200, some as low as $100, and a pretty decent flat bed scanner should also be available for about the same amount, depending on what you wish the scanner to do, i.e. scan film and documents, etc.

it is MUCH less expensive to have an on line service or the local photo kiosk print your photos. t home printing 4x6 runs about 50 cents while the kiosk prints are 15-19 cents.
You can write the edited images back to the card or burn a cd and have them back almost as fast as you can print them yourself. On line services are even easier; just upload and the post office delivers them in 2-3 days.
I have used MPix, Adorama and PhotoPipe, all with excellent results. Check out each's specials on large prints; 8x10 for $1.00 and 11x14 for $5 are common. PhotoPipe has a deal on 16x20's for $10. $20 on canvas.
