What kind of software are you referring to? Olympus doesn't have a proprietary JPEG format so any image editing program will do. If you're referring to being able to download from the camera to the computer, pick up a USB card reader. I've never found it necessary to connect a camera to the computer, unless I'm shooting tethered and controlling the camera through the computer.

My C5050z came with Oly Camedia software in the box.The e-1 comes with PSE-2. Were you shorted?

Any available Firmware upgrades are on the Oly site.
