I am curious what distance to a subject do you move from lens like a 24-85 to an 80-200 length lens.
An object is say... 150 feet away. Which lens would you put on your camera and what goes into that decision?
Thx
Jeff

Depends on how you want the subject to appear in the composition.
What you're asking isn't a yes or no question. It's a personal decision.
Larry... I had a full moon during a power outage last weekend (very dark) and there is a huge tree at the end of my yard (100 feet from tripod to base of tree/150 feet from tripod to top of tree) that was in the forground.
So from my camera, 150 feet to the branches and the full moon behind which was giving the branches a really interesting look.
I was using my 24-85 lens and was curious what an 80-200 could have done with capturing those branches.
Thx
Jeff
