i just built a small studio in my basement to do photography in.i do not understand all the different lenses that are on the market.i want to take a photo of a subject six foot long from a distance of 10 foot away can anyone tell me what wide angle lens i need or where i can find easy to understand information.i also need information about homemade studio lighting.thank you
The fact that you built a studio before knowing anything about photography and your scenario sounds really creepy. Good luck getting information from respectable photographers.
I can't lay my hands on the book that has he formula, but a 2 meter subject requires a distance of 6 meters with a 105mm lens. At 10 feet,a 50mm lens would work.
As an aside, basement CEILINGS are often too low to LOW to get proper light placement for people pictures when the subject is standing, especially if the lights are modified by umbrellas or soft boxes.
Sorry, I have no info to share on the home made lighting units.
