After reading the new mag. the LGE Flatron L200C sounded very good, although a bit higher than I wanted to spend. I have two questions. How does this monitor compare to some of the lower priced versions, specificly the Dell Ultrasharp 2007, the Viewsonic VX2235, Samsung 215 and the HP LP2065. Also, I see a retailer on the internet by the name of BackupTapes.net. Has anyone had any dealings w/ them.

You mentioned the LGE L2000C LCD display so I assume you are referring to my report on that display. All of the LCD displays I have tested and reported on have been models which the manufacturer has specified as being a model designed and intended to support professional graphics, content production and photography applications. Three of the models you mentioned are models sold under brand names that do not manufacture LCD displays, so what the specific model really is is a total mystery, and I don't think the sellers have or would formally state that the models are specifically designed to support professional graphics, content production and photography. The Samsung (one of the world's largest actual manufacturers of LCD displays) makes many models, and I believe the intended market segment the 215 model targets is multimedia.
If you want a manufacturer's highest performance LCD display product that will provide the best performance for doing photography, then choose a model that is designed and intended for that market segment. LCD displays made for general home/office application will usually be compromised and limited applied to critical photographic use.
As I mentioned in my report, I purchased an LGE L2000C for my own personal use, and bought it from Amazon.com, which offered the lowest price of any established, reliable reseller. I have spent many hundreds of dollars with Amazon.com every year over the last several years and have found their prices competitively low in most cases, and their service and reliability 100%. You can always find some never heard of before company offering a product at an unusually low price. From the feedback I get those very low prices are often an invitation for being taken for a ride.
Steve,
Backuptapes.net doesn't show up on www.resellerratings.com and I personally would never buy from a company that doesn't have at least an average rating on this website.
