If I am not mistaken you are in Washington state, so I would check the Yellow Pages for Seattle. Some of the best printers by reputation in the country are located there, some of whom I have read and exchanged information with in the past on the Yahoo B&W print forum. You might also call Glazers in Seattle and chat with their digital people about what printers currently have the best reputation among photographers in town.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I live in Washington State, but I'm 30 minutes from Portland, Oregon but 3 hours from Seattle, Washington. I'm looking for printers that use Epson matte papers to match what I print myself. Sofar, I've found only one printer in Portland that does matte paper, but they are very expensive.

Although I lived in Seattle for several years as well as Eugene, Oregon not all that long ago, and had many occasions to be in Portland I was never impressed with the city's support for photography. So really have nothing to recommend.

Postings here and on other photography forums did not yield more information on JumboGiant so I bit the bullet and downloaded a 78MP 20x30" at 360ppi 8bit 35MB Adobe RGB (1998) color profile highest quality jpeg image to their website on Monday, to be printed at 20x30" on Epson Enhanced Matte paper without interpolation or sharpening. Today, Saturday I received the print in a sturdy carton tube. It matches exactly the same image on my screen and my own 13x19" print on the same paper. I did not want them to do the interpolation as they normally res up to a lot less than 360ppi, more like 200 or 240ppi and I did not want them to sharpen the image because this particular image is not a traditional photo; it's a color photo processes to look like a finely-detailed pen and ink drawing and the sharp edges of the pure black and white layer where every pixel is either pure white or black would be severely compromised by sharpening (one situation where sharpening doesn't work).

JumboGiant was one of only three companies that I have been able to locate that will print this size of image or larger on Epson Enhanced Matte paper; two on the internet and one locally here in the Portland, Oregon area. JumboGiant had the best prices and they have not disappointed me. My next order will go to them as well.

Actually if they used a RIP, they did interpolate. When I get oversized prints made, the lab prefers the original full size corrected file and the RIP resizes and converts to the color space that the printer is using. I just checked their web site and they ask for 150PPI files.

I emailed them to make sure they could work with the 360ppi file, wouldn't change the resolution or sharpen the image.

If you are wanting Gallery quality prints, you may want to step out of the box and look into some real paper. A Cranes, Legion or some paper is not geared for consumer use but rather Professional use.
