I was set to get a durabooklaptop computer until the final price quotes came in for the machine I was after (came in at $2600 or 14/1" screen 120GB Hard Drive, DVD Burner and 2GB Ram with Windows XP Pro). Can some suggest the best laptop I can get for $2000 geared towards the needs of a serious digital photographer. I know I need 2GB of Ram, 100GB Hard Drive, DVD Burner and it has to be rugged enough I can take it with me without fear it will break (on planes, in the trunk of car). I think the hard drive is slowly going so I need a new machine as soon as I can find the right on that I can afford. Yes I did a full data backup last night to 3 DVDs.
I've been reading all the articles on laptops I can get my hands on inculding the one recently in shutterbug but Istill need some more info. What is the best brand, make and model for a photographer and what will hold up the best.
I do have a desktop that works really well but I depend on my laptop way too much, especially when I am not home.
So what are you guys using and what do you recommend?
Also with the $2000 budget I will also need to buy a new company Adobe Photoshop Elements as I have lost the install disc to the version 2.0 I had on my machine.
Thanks in advance for your help
