Hey everyone ! I just got my new E500, and i must say im in love. This camera is amazing, however im a bit scared with all its functions, there is so much to learn lol. Ill be posting my pics soon!!
Ive had mine for some months and i promise im still learning!
Hi,
Yes, the learning curve can seem a bit steep...I started my use of digital with the Olympus C5050Z, a bit of a souped-up point and shoot, but still a good camera. I went on to the E-Volt 300 and loved it and moved up to the E-Volt 500 a few months ago. Be patient and read the manual, practice, practice, practice...!! I think you will find that the more you study and use the camera, the better things will be...and the better your photos will be...!
Enjoy and make lots of photos!

I have had mine a month now. And yest there is a lot to learn. I was so used to doing it all manually
Nice to see fellow Olympus users!
Check out Oly's web site every so often for the firmware updates for their cameras and lenses.
I just got the E-500 with the two lens set. I must say, it will keep me busy for some time.
I have had mine now for 14 months and I do love it. I am planning to purchase the E410 body when it is released. There are a lot of settings for the E500. However, eventually you will settle in and use some preferred settings most of the time based on your shooting style. You won't need all the features. Relax and enjoy the camera. You can view my results with the camera at http://www.pbase.com/mnoble. I have a number of galleries with both B&W and Color images.
Good luck with your E500!
I am looking at E500; E510: 520 410 & 420 I would appeciate what others know of the differences in these modelsso I can make wise choice. I am an advanced photographer, not familiar yet w/Olympus. I have been to Olympus web site and am cofused by all the data. LOL gettin old! ty

hey i have had mine for over a year... i think 2 years in October. anyways, i can tell you something that someone said that helped me, learn all those functions. a friend who is a professional photographer, told me to spend 2-3 weeks learning each function(s).
it took a while (i spent a week learning the more easier ones - that came easier to me). every chance that i get, i keep reviewing the ones i have trouble with.i don't have a website, hopefully be getting one soon.
