2004 promises to be a very exciting year at photokina, the World's Fair of Imaging in Cologne, Germany. Now's your chance to join Shutterbug on a very special trip to photokina, followed by our own exclusive Leica Factory tour and sightseeing and photo opportunities on the Rhine, in medieval towns and through the castles of Germany. Our post-photokina trip will be with George Schaub, editor of Shutterbug, Ron Leach, editor of Petersen's Photographic and a special guest pro.

The World's Fair of Imaging
If you've always wanted to attend photokina, the World's Fair of Imaging, now's your chance. Photokina is the international destination for all those who love photography and imaging. It's where the newest gear and innovations are announced, as well as innovations that set the pace for the photography world for years to come. Visitors attend from over 65 countries, and exhibitors come from around the globe. The massive exhibit will fill your eyes and ears with an astounding range of products, from the latest cameras, both digital and film, to lenses, lighting, digital imaging equipment, and more. In addition, the numerous halls of photokina are filled with many exhibits from top photographers and image associations.

Cologne: A Photo Festival
The town of Cologne itself opens its doors to photo visitors with literally hundreds of gallery shows, openings and special events all with photography in mind. The many restaurants and pubs in Old Town, along the banks of the Rhine, become a place to meet and greet photographers and exhibitors from around the world.

Your Access
When you arrive you'll be given a VIP pass to the photokina halls, which also gives you free public transportation in and around the city of Cologne. The price includes accommodations in and around Cologne.Your VIP photokina badge gives you instant and immediate access to all that photokina and Cologne offer during this exciting show. We'll also provide a special reception to acquaint and orient you with all that you can see during your stay in this exciting city on the Rhine.

After the Show: On to Heidelberg
After photokina we've planned an exciting trip that will give you a true taste of Germany, plus an exclusive Tour and special presentations at the Leica Factory in Solms. We begin our journey with a private, deluxe motorcoach ride to Heidelberg, one of the most romantic cities on the Rhine. When we arrive in Heidelberg we'll take a guided tour of the city followed by a traditional German meal. The next day we head out for Rothenberg, a charming medieval town typical of southern Germany, where we'll have many great photo opportunities. We finish our day with dinner at an historic castle overlooking the Rhine.

Rhine Cruise
The next morning we'll depart for our Rhine Cruise from Rudesheim to St. Goarhausen, perhaps the most beautiful stretch of the river. We'll explore the small towns and end our trip at Marksburg Castle in Braubach.

Leica Factory Tour
After our castle tour we'll take a leisurely motorcoach trip to Wetzlar and join together for dinner in a traditional restaurant. We'll spend that evening and the next in Wetzlar, and visit nearby Solms for a special Leica Factory tour and presentations by Leica personnel. We have joined with Leica to bring you a very special event, one you're sure to remember long after you return home. After a night of rest in Wetzlar we'll get you back to Frankfurt airport for your return trip home, or bid you farewell as you continue your journey in Germany or anywhere in Europe you choose to go.

Accompanied Tours
Throughout our journey after photokina we'll be accompanied by an English speaking tour escort who will enliven your journey with special commentary on each leg of our trip. Remember, we cover all hotel accommodations, daily breakfast, photokina VIP badges (and free transportation throughout Cologne), four dinners, two lunches and all tours and fees from September 30-October 7. Airfare is your own, and transfers are not covered, except for those traveling from Wetzlar to Frankfurt on October 7.
