I did not know that I could post the serial numbers on this site, since I just joined a couple of days ago. I'll give a description of each lens, the serial number and the police report information.
The first lens that was stolen is a 24mm F2.8 AF-D Nikon/Nikkor wideangle lens. The lens has a clear uv filter on it, along with two black plastic Nikon lens caps, a black metal Nikon HN-1 lenshood and a black elastic band that holds onto the front lens cap when the lens is being used. THE SERIAL NUMBER OF THIS STOLEN LENS IS 450622.
The second lens that was stolen is a 50mm F1.4 AF-D Nikon/Nikkor normal lens. The lens also has a clear uv filter on it, two black plastic Nikon lenscaps, a Nikon rubber HR-2 lenshood and a black elastic band that holds onto the front cap when the lens is being used. NOTE: This lens is still under warranty, as it was purchased at MQ Camera Center in Syracuse, NY on March 2, 2007. THE SERIAL NUMBER OF THIS STOLEN LENS IS US6034518.
I filed a police report with both the security department at the Bronx Zoo and with the 52nd precinct of the New York City Police Department. THE POLICE REPORT NUMBER IS 2007-052-06262. If any Shutterbug.net member has any other suggestions on what else I can do to increase my chances of getting my stolen lenses back, I would appreciate their reply on this posting. Thank You, Astronomer, Syracuse, NY
