I've decided to go with the Nikon D40. I went back and forth between the 6 & the 10mp, but my point & shoot is 9mp so I decided to save the money.
I thought I would go with the 18-55mm kit.
So for a second/extra lens(es) I was thinking of one or a combination of :
> AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 55-200mm f/4.5-6G ED
> AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED
> AF Nikkor 28mm f/2.8D
- do all of these work with the D40?
- What are the advantages to the fixed lens?
I like close-up/macro & abstract work, my current point & shoot is fairly good with that, so that is not necessarily a large concern for this camera. I do travel/landscapes. Wildlife only as the opportunity arises.
Thanks for your input. I think I'll make the trip to the camera store (or the online store where I've found the camera for $100 cheaper) on Saturday...
