...and I am willing to settle for a good fantasy instead. My particular fantasy is to do documentary photography of my new home town: Dillwyn, Virginia. I have given up on fancy equipment, having pared down my kit to a Nikon N80 with a 50mm f/1.8 lens, a light meter, and film. And also my Bogen 3221 variable-weight tripod. I will let you all know how this is working out in the months ahead. I will read the various forums, but I will also spend much more time out "in the field" with my camera doing my thing. Since I can't afford (right now) to go to exotic places, I think my home town will do just fine.
With best regards to all.

PS. A variable-weight tripod is one that gets heavier the farther you have to carry it.
PPS Don't ask me to define "documentary photography". I'm making this up as I go along.
