I currently own an HP Photosmart 8750, nice wide format printer, when used with Windows XP Pro. Now, I also have a Windows Vista PC with applications supported by Vista, but I am having printing problems. The prints are not as vibrant in colours plus I am also not able to print borders around all four sides. Has anyone had the exposure to this problem. Contacted HP, with this issue but have not heard back regarding the driver issue. I have the latest and greatest PC tools, since I am an IT technician. I have tried all possible software apps with their full trials and all are coming out with the same problem described in this post. I am not going to venture out and spend additional money on a new printer as this printer is still in production and it a great printer for all usage up to 13x19 photo printing. Again, the Vista drivers have been installed on this PC as fresh as you can get a piece of bread from the market.
Any ideas, would be greatly appreciated. There is a reason, why I will NOT get rid of Windows XP Pro.
I, too, have an HP8750 printer (which I love) and am running Windows XP. I have no intention of upgrading to Vista in the near future, and your msg seems to confirm that for me. Since I'm not an IT professional, merely a photographer primarily, I'm happy with what I have and where I am. I will watch with interest, however, to see if and when and how you find a fix for this problem. Good luck!
I think if you do a search in this forum on "Vista" you will find an extensive discussion of Vista bugs and problems associated with doing digital photography processing. The subject has also received coverage in a recent issue of the magazine, so you may want to also look at the article archives.
