I find this very impressive, and it would be great to incorporate it into photographs. But how do they achieve it? There are lots more examples where this one comes from. It's on Photobucket under Digital Art.

If I were to be trying to create that style of art, I would be using an image that has a wide color range, and use a "stylize" filter from my NIK Software Color Efex Pro 3.0 in order to create most of the effect.

In the image, I left a small portion without the filter so you could see what the original image looked like.

Thanks, Roo. That looks interesting. I don't have that software, so I'll have to look further, but I've got an idea now.
Cheers,
Errol

The NIK software suite of plug-ins is an amazing timesaver when working with images. I hardly ever open up Photoshop anymore, since most all of that work gets done in my image management program (Aperture).
I'm such a fan of the software, I built a new forum for it.
