I have the 10.1Mp Canon Rebel XTi SLR. I do photography as a hobby and would like to know what would be a good/decent Zoom lens. Nothing too pricey, but adequate. There are so many out there. Even any tips as to what to look for as far as specs.
Thanks,
Steve

WOW! old question. Doesn't move very fast here. I have a Nikon DSLR and use mostly a 28-200 Sigma. If I were doing it over I'd go for one of the 28-300 zooms.

I without a doubt would suggest a 70-200L, which is available in f4, f4 IS, f2.8, and 2.8 IS. Buy the best one you can afford. You can pick up a good used f4 non-IS for about $400 to $475. Don't waste money on a 75-300 lens. I know, new they are 1/3 the price of a used 70-200 but the IQ is 1/10th at best.
