So, I'm getting to the point that i'm doing a bit of studio work, and i need to buy some lights. at the moment i'm using an odd collection of flashlights, desk lamps, and, well, whatever i can get my hands on. but, i'd like to move to something more professional, and more permanent. I kinda think I'd like to start out with continuous lighthing, because i figure it would be easier to work with than flash slaves(is this a good assumption?)
so, can anyone reccomend a good, CHEAP(this is kinda the operative word here) lighting system?
thanks.

B&H sells a set of two height-adjustable stands, lamp holders, reflectors and 500W bulbs for about $130. Diffusors that fit over the reflectors are about $20 each.
