Does this sound like a new symptom for the metering board problem the D70 has suffered from:
Turning on the camera with a Sandisk extreme 512 mb card gives a flashing "For" error on the top LCD. Sometimes it can be resolved by performing a format in-camera, and sometimes it must be first reformatted in my computer, the formatted in the D70. It has happened to 2 Sandisk cards to date. I am switching out to a Lexar to see if it occurs there.
The reason I believe this to be a camera problem is (1) It has occured to 2 different cards, and (2) The symptoms are slightly different. On one card the in-camera reformat worked, but on the second card it required a computer format prior to in-camera. It is possible this is a Sandisk failure, but for it to happen to 2 cards at the same time is a bit more than coincidental. also, for the record I am not a heavy shooter, and the camera has less than 8000 actuations on more than a few cards.
This camera did suffer the "BGLOD" problem and was sent back to Nikon for service some time ago.
Additionally when using this camera a few weeks ago, it seemed the meter was reading in reverse! The camera was in Spot mode, using the center AF point. It seemed the meter would read Over when I passed the point over a darker area than a lighter area, which would read under. Please note I am aware of which direction + and - are in Nikons system.
Anyway, comments and suggestions would be appreciated. I figure I will most likely have to send it back to Nikon again for the fix, but I would like to know if anyone here has had this problem.
Thanx in advance!
Jay
