Hi, I am thinking of buying Nikon D-50 but again when I hold d-70s, makes me rethink of it though I am still beginner and also thinking of Tamron AF18-200 FI 3.5-6.3 XR DI 11 lens, how good is the combination of those 2 things.
Your advise is appreciated.
Tks
Amdo
There are those who would disagree, but the 11x zooms can be too slow for hand held use, are slow to focus in low light and may not be the most desired optics for enlargments over 11x14.
Thanks Mr Ronk for your help.
But do you recommend any kind of lens that goes well with D50 or D70s
Lens, I am looking for is all in one type, atleast for now, cus I am just a beginner.
Amdo, I really think the lens or lenses you should buy depends upon what you want to photograph. Kodak's book, "The Joy of Photography" is a great introduction to photography and the equipment that it uses. There might be a copy at the library.
Personally, I find that a lens that has the focal length equivalent of 28-105 mm the best overall lens one can buy.
Most landscapes, people and still lifes can be handled quite easily with this focal length range.
I am not a Nikon owner so I cannot be specific as to what they offer.

I recommend buying the 18-70mm Nikon lens as the 18-55mm lens is just too restictive at the high end. I speak from experience; I have the 18-70mm and my son has the 18-55mm; we go out on photo shoots together a lot and many times my son has to change lenses to get more than 55mm reach. You may want to consider complimenting this lens with a 55-200mm telelens from either Nikon, Sigma or Tamron.

I have the original D70, with the kit 18-70 lens. I also purchased the Nikkor 70-300 at the same time, I would stay with the Nikkor or Nikon lenses. I enjoy the set up, both lenses work well with the camera, and with a decent range. The D70 is an excellent camera for portraits, outdoor shots and the like. I've even used it during Bronco games, little-league football, and my Son's basketball games. The outdoor focus reliabilty is good as long as there is sufficient lighting. However, the indoor reliability is as good as whatever lens you have on at the time. The D70 is a great camera for a beginner, like I was last year. However, one year experience with it has prompted me to step up to the D200 this summer.
