Hello and Macro Advise Requested

First post, so a big hello to everyone!

I'm looking to add a new macro lens to my inventory and need advice. I'm looking at the ZD 50mm f/2 vs. the Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG.

In my research, I see the Sigma is 1:1 while the ZD is 1:2. Reviews say both are great lenses but slow with AF - which I suppose is normal for macro lenses. Both are about the same price.

Does anyone have experience with these lenses and would the sigma work well on my Oly e500?

After talking with some people at flickr and amatuerphotographer, I opted to go with the ZD 35mm macro. I got that and a FL-36 flash off amazon for a little less than the cost of the 50mm.

All of these lenses have different close focusing distances and WORKING distances. The lens to buy/use depends upon the size of, and how close to the subject one cab get to. Longer lenses, eg., have longer working distances that will enable one to photograph skittish subjects like insects w/o spooking them or casting a shadow on them. It is a matter of purpose rather than price.
