Well, my husband was putting the CF card back in to the camera and he bent a prong. So, the camera will not read the card anymore. You can see where the prong is trying to go in to the cf card, it is making an indentation. Has this ever happened to anyone before? What can I do? Do I need to take it to a repair shop? I am so lost and upset
My husband feels terrible. I have a RepairTech Advantage service plan on it, do I need to get on the phone with them in the morning?? Someone please help. I know I have only had the camera for a few days, but I am heartbroken and lost already.
Laura,
Sometimes this can be fixed if your real carefull. First determine if your plan will cover the repair. If so then go that route. If not.... then you will need a bright flashlight, long thin needle-nose pliers and something to bend the bent connector pin into a semi upright position. You'll need a thin strong wire, like kind you will find in a
(dont laugh) turkey lacing kit. Use your pliers to bend a small "U" shape in the tip of the lacing kit pin. Slowly slip the "U" shaped lacing tip under the bent connector pin and pull the connector pin upright enough to put your thin needle-nose pliers and bend it to match the rest of the row of connector pins.
Be carefull, in that you can only bend the connector pin a few times before it breaks. Good LUCK
