About 20 years ago, I bought a Calumet monorail w/ Goerz Dagor 8 1/4" lens. I never did carry the monorail around much and would like to know if this lens would match up well with any field cameras that are more convenient to use. Also, is this a good lens and about what is it worth (assuming working condition)?
Thanks,

Dave,
I see no reason your Goerz Dagor, and I believe it was referred to as a "Gold Dot", it would not be suitable for use with a 4x5 folding field camera. It is a good focal length for landscapes, and if stopped down to f/16 or more should resolve good detail and contrast.
However, I would have the shutter after 20 years cleaned, lubricated and recalibrated by a good technician.
