Hello! Not sure where to post this... I have a Simmon Omega B-8 B&W Enlarger I've had for 17 years. I'm in the process of moving and I haven't been able to sell it (everyone's gone digital!) It is in quite good condition, but I never had the space to really use it and my photographic skills are novice at best. I really want to see it go to someone who will care for it and use it. I live in the Disney area in Florida near the Animal Kingdom; if anyone's interested to come and pick it up, it's yours for free. I suppose I could ship it as well, but I'd just rather not deal with that unless someone really wants it and is willing to pay the shipping. It comes with a manual, all parts and bulbs, 3 sizes of negative carriers, a Rodenstock Omegaron 1:3,5 f=50mm lens, a grain focusing scope, and a Reelrite adjustable developing tank. I'll also throw in a like-new 35mm camera case I bought last year if you want it. Please address question here, To be fair, I probably need to state that the first person expressing an interest in it by replying to this topic would be the one who can have it.
Can I make a suggestion? Why not contact your local high school, community college, photo club, etc., to see if they might be interested in a donation? You get it out of your hair and get a tax deduction besides......
I've already contacted the schools in the local area and they weren't interested, surprisingly. But thank you for the suggestion!
That's because schools are teaching digital photography and digital art. Basically film darkroom equipment is going to become land fill.
When I have large stuff I don't want anynmore, I set it on a broken table at the foot of my driveway and they usually take the table before the other stuff.
Larry, put a "For Sale" sign on it. Then it will disappear....
Well I tried! I hereby withdraw my offer due to lack of interest
I dunno what I'll do with it but I just can't bring myself to throw it away yet. Maybe I'll turn it into a work of art. Or something.
Sorry it didn't work out here. Why don't you try the Photo Net forum (www.photo.net). You can put it in the B&W Film Processing forum. It's worth a try.....
Do you still have the B-8 ?
I run a non profit org. here in NorCal and teach photography to young people in my community.
If you still have the enlarger avail., I would love
to work something out with you.
Dave
