Follow-up to LaCie 320 Review - 320 vs. 120

David, I read your review on the LaCie 320 LCD Monitor -- great review. I have been looking at this monitor as a replacement to my current set of Samsung 172B LCDs. However, due to the price point (and the fact that I run dual screen, so I would need two), I have also been looking at the LaCie 120 LCD monitor.

Do you have an comparative experience or reviews between the LaCie 320 and the LaCie 120?

It is worth noting that I am an IT professional who often works at home, so 90% of the time the monitors will be used for business tasks (working in Microsoft Word and Outlook). I am an amateur who takes pictures as a hobby and thus only dabbles in PhotoShop and does basic RAW file adjustments. At this stage, I

LaCie doesn't make any LCD monitors. They rebrand other companies' monitors like those from NEC and jack up the price. The 320 for instance is the LaCie version of the NEC LCD2090UXi.

For the use you describe The LaCie 320 would be overkill. I can't say anything about their 120 model as I have not seen or used it.

However if like me you prefer the 20 inch 3:4 aspect ratio size, I would suggest a modestly priced brand and model that has good color quality and adjustment control is the Samsung 204T.

Just wondering about that at it was the 214T that you reviewed, yes?

It was the 244T Samsung Synchmaster I used to base my review on, and Samsung assured me the 214T was virtually the same but not as wide as the 244T and the only measured difference would be due to its backlight (smaller).

The 204T is a different screen, but with similar physical and adjustment capabilities found in the 244T and 214T making it suitable and targeted to pro-graphics use.
