I will soon be purchasing a 20D and was wondering if my older Speedlite 430EZ will work with the 20D. If yes, any thoughts on how well it works?
Thanks.

Hey, i dont beleive the 430 EZ is going to work the way you want it to. It was designed for the first generation of eos cameras. I recall but you could keep it for a slave flash, it it has that capability, you might need to add something to the hot shoe for it to work. I would go with the 550ex or the 580ex since you are spending the money on a good camera go with a good flash too. (although i am having problems with my 550ex) thats another story. If you arent hung up on the straight canon products look into a bare bulb flash. You can test your lighting very simply with the g20 and make adjustments. Its not like you are wasting film. If you are taking alot of pictures i would highly suggest an external power source for your flash like the quantum turbo battery ... its one of the best. Heavy but truly worth the money. Recycle time is less than a second on the 550ex.
