I finally gave up and just dumped the current film forum because we were getting plastered with porn. I banned probably 30 of these and they kept coming. I will start up a new film forum in the next few days.
George,
Now it's starting in the 35mm Rangefinder Cameras forum. Apparently, it wasn't just the Film forum that was targeted.....
George,
There is no prevention mechanism in the registration process for the forum that would prevent a BOT from registering and then filing spam automatically from a remote robotic site.
Forum registration needs to be beefed up a lot to prevent any non-registered and illegitimate posting and BOTS from access to being able to insert spam.
My forum has approximately 6000 members and by having everyone's first post moderated totally eliminates spam.

Is there any way to do that with this forum?
As you can see the Shutterbug website has been re-designed, and the spam problem appears to be resolved. What has been done under the surface I am not privy to, but if it works that's what is important. But then I have been distracted by getting a blog started at: http://blog.shutterbug.com/davidbrooks/
