Everyday lens for 20d?

What would you recommened for an everyday lens for my Canon 20D? I'm looking for something that I can keep on the camera for most of the time (up to 80-100m I think). I don't want to big of a lens but I also want to be able to zoom in for that closer shot when I want.

I have other lens going up to 300m but that's not an everyday or general purpose lens.

My personal favorite everyday Canon lens is the Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM. Neither an extreme wide angle, nor an extreme telephoto, it still provides a very nice range of operation and excellent image quality. From product photography to mountain vistas, from cityscapes to portraiture, this is an excellent all-around lens.

I purchased mine this past autumn and it's been my everyday lens ever since.

Check out the Sigma 18-200mm..I toted mine attached to a 350D all over Indochina last year and was impressed with the results..

I'll second that. I have used my 28-135 pretty much all the time on both my 10D and my 5D, and absolutely love it! When I need to "reach out" a bit more, I have a Tamron 28-300 (a really compact lens), which works not-so-good on the 10D, but is perfectly OK for the 5D.
