Everytime I buy a new piece of equipment, I get a new program to put into my computer. In each case I end up with yet another editing program I don't know how to us. My scanner came with Photoshop 5 and I haven't a clue how to use it. My new Cannon S5 came with yet more and it has me puzzled. Everytime I get a new printer I get more! Do I really need all these programs in the computer? Seem's to be a waste of space as most I assume duplicate each other for photo editing.

It sounds like rather than just buying more equipment you need to invest some time and effort in learning what you have and how to work with it. You can simplify the process somewhat by just using Adobe Photoshop Elements, but you should upgrade to Version 6.0. There are good how-to books on using Elements 6.0 on Amazon.com as well as basic books on digital photography.
