This web site is established to provide information about the settlement of In re Epson Ink Cartridge Cases in Los Angeles County Superior Court, California. On February 7, 2006, the Court entered an Order granting Preliminary Approval of the proposed settlement. The Court will consider final approval of the settlement at a hearing on August 15, 2006. ??The documents at this website explain the settlement, who may participate in the benefits to be made available, and the options for class members. I am really surprised considering all of the concern by so many about how much ink cost, when a company is giving some money back no one is interested.

One reason for the lack of responses may be that this ink settlement was posted on other photography forums weeks ago. Another reason may be that people not necessarily believe that Epson acted in bad faith. I for one will not ask for money back from a company that I hold in high regard and that for many years has provided me with top-notch products and services.

I've purchased three Epson printers and today received three notices of the class action settlement in the mail. Whether intentional or not, the design of the 1270/1280 printers, with one cartridge for all the colors, most likely wastes a good quantity of ink.
Printing on my R1800 I notice that often one color will race to the finish line leaving the others half full....makes me suspect that ink I paid good money for for my 1270 and 1280 went unused.
I'll consider the settlement as a welcome and much appreciated gift. I'll cash it in in the Epson Store....try out some papers I wouldn't otherwise purchase.
