Entry Level DSLR...

I am looking to buy a DSLR in the very near future, and was looking for input from the masses! I have my eye set on the Canon Digital Rebel, but have gotten mixed reviews from my "photo friends".

I currently shoot a Pentax PZ-1P 35 mm, and my only digital experience has come from a Canon Powershot S20.

I have made a little extra cash shooting youth sports, but would like to amke the transition into full digital mode, without breaking the bank. I am a cop in my "real job", and do this on the side for fun! Is the Rebel capable of meeting my needs?

I was in the same market a little while ago. I chose the Pentax ist Ds and am happy with it. Just the right size, great view finder, full auto, full manual, all and all a lot of camera for the $$$. No regrets

I also have a Pentax ist DS. I was using a Pentax ZX5 before and had Pentax lenses. The ist DS handles the Pentax lenses I previously used with my ZX5. So far I'm very happy with the ist DS

I like my Nikon D70 and my son likes his Pentax ist DS. You may also want to look at the new Nikon D50.

I have the Nikon D-70 and I love love love it...I've been a Canon shooter for years but I prefer the metering system in the Nikon D-70. It is consistently more accurate than my friends rebel xt

I recently purchased the Pentax istDS for work and it seems to be a great camera for the price...especially since I own a Pentax zx5n with several lens as well as a Pentax k1000 and several great, old Pentax m lens

I just bought the Nikon D70s and really like it. it's not to expensive, and i found it cheaper on line, i only need the camera body since i had a nikon n75 (barely used i might add). I bought the canon a75 and loved it but i am partial to Nikon.

Olympus os the only manufacturer that offers PIXEL MAPPING and AUTOMATIC SENSOR CLEANING!

I will say the only digital at one time that impressed me was the E20. I think they do make nice cameras.

Hi all,

Sorry to say, but if you already have Pentax lenses. I would just stay with Pentax dSLR. Simply b/c of cost. You can use most of your K mount lenses on your dSLR.
