The most important issue is the lighting so your images look professional. We reviewed the Lowel Ego and found it (actually two are better) easy to use to get professional product shots of objects around 15 inches or smaller.

Well, almost... It's a little expensive if you consider it's only a couple of lamps packed in an almost-transparent box.

And considering that I would have to import it (I'm in Brazil, where there's no Lowel distribuitor) it'd be even more expensive.

Isn't there a Chinese (cheap) alternative? That would be perfect!

Any lamps with daylight florescent bulbs behind white plexiglass to diffuse the lighting. That shouldn't be too difficult to throw together. Just remember to use a custom white balance to match the light for accurate color.

Next thing I want to learn is how to make 3D product animations... I'm referring to those "3D pictures" in which you can see the product from various angles, rotating and spinning it... Does anyone know how they're made?

What software they use?
How they take the pictures? Which equipment they use?

They use Flash to make 3D rotating product animations.
