I just purchased an Evolt E-330 and I have a question about using 2 memory cards at once. If this is in the manual I haven't been able to find it, so I hope one of you Olympus gurus can tell me. If I install both a CF and an XD card in the camera can I then switch between the 2, like when one fills up keep shooting on the other, or if I should want to keep certain shots on a different card? Or does the camera just write everything to both cards at once?
On my C50550z, once a card is full the camera changes over to the other card automatically. You may have a button that changes the recording from one card to the other, so taking an image on one card and the next image on the other is possible. I'm not sure exacxtly how the 330 works, but probably something similar.
I haven't filled a card since I added an xD card to my E-500, but my reading of the manual is that you have to switch manually. Automatic switching would be nice, and nicer still would have been 2 CF slots, given that xD costs more per given capacity and seems to be slower.
I wonder why they went with the two formats.

A long-delayed followup to this question: Based on my experience, the E-500, and, presumably, the E-330, does not automatically switch to the second card when the first is full. However, the other day I left the house without retrieving the CF card I'd been using from the card reader, and the only thing that tipped me off was the noticeably slower write time of the xD card; the camera had automatically switched to the available card.
So, I guess it's a good fail-safe for the absent-minded.
