dSLR Lens?

I have a rather simple question that I'm having a hard time finding out, or just not looking in the right place. I recently bought a Nikon D50 and I was wondering if any SLR lens would work in it, or is there a special type that will only work with the Nikon D50?

Or in particular would this lens work with the Nikon D50?
20mm--200mm Minolta SLR lens

Camera manufacturers have lens mounts that are specific to a particular brand of camera. Some third party manufacturers like Sigma & Tamron make lenses in several different mounts. You will probably need to purchase lenses in the Nikon AF mount.
