Does anyone know how to get a set of drivers for the Nikon LS-2000 scanner to run on Windows XP without doing the PhD in Computer Science series of jumping through hoops provided by Nikon customer ?service? ?? They recommend you download an unusable set of drivers and back up to safe mode and do a bunch of program and registry modifications that can royally mess up your system if you hit a wrong key.

Euin,
Nikon produces really quite fine hardware, but in the software department they have never quite gotten there.
If you want to get the most out of your hardware, you might do what quite a few have, buy Lasersoft Silverfast Ai 6 for the scanner and uninstall all of the Nikon software.
You can even download a trial version from the Lasersoft web site at http://www.silverfast.com/. See how it works and then if you like its performance, then and only then buy it.
