I decided to get out my Pentax MX after about 20 years and go back to the slow-motion world of film. Two problems, though.
One, the mirror sometimes sticks in the up position. I haven't been able to tie it to any particular conditions. Once, I put the camera aside with it stuck and it was working properly the next day. For a while.
The other is the lights for the exposure meter work erratically. I had put in fresh batteries (checking the manual to make sure they were in the correct way). Things worked better after I bent the contact tab in the bottom of the battery compartment up a little. Then it gave out. A frustrated slap on the camera got it working again. For a while.
The last camera shop in town referred me to a camera repair place, but they couldn't help me and referred me here.
So, is there anyone out there who repairs old Pentaxes?
