Digital Zoom Lens

I was wondering if anyone on this forum has had experience with or has an opinion about Canon's 55-200 zoom made for the Canon Digital SLR.
I bought my Digital Rebel with the standard zoom lens and would like to augment it with a longer zoom.
Any comments?
