Why is it that when a commercial photographer shoots a photograph of a piece of jewelry, or something of a similar size, the digital image looks flat and lacks dimension?
I see this all the time in the art show jury images that I work on from all the "professional" jury slide photographers who have made the change from film to digital. 3D artists rely on their work looking as good as it possibly can to apply and hopefully get accepted into shows.
Is this because of the smaller sensor or is there some other factor?
