Digital images turned into film-like prints

Help!
Is it possible to change digital images to film-like prints? I am relatively new to photography however I hate the flat images I have gotten so far. Does anyone have suggestions or does anyone know of processing labs in Maryland or online processors?

Are you prinying directly from the card?
If so, turn your contrast and other settings to zero and let the printer manage the output.
Are you using an image editor of any kind?
If so, you will have to adjust your computer screen so that the prints will match what you see on the screen. In the control panel, you will find Adobe Gamma. Follow the tutorial on how to adjust. Once you have done this, you can play with the images and get any contrast level you like.
