I love silver halide black and white prints. Is there an ink/paper combination that succesfully imitates this film technology for inkjet users? Or, can I request special printing at a photo shop using digital files?
Thanks,
j.

Jody,
The closest in digital inkjet prints to real silver B&W prints I have seen are those made on Premier Art Luster Rag paper. This is a fiber-base 100% cotton rag paper with a smooth luster surface very similar in look and feel to silver emulsion B&W paper that is fiber-based with a gloss surface that is then air dried. I have printed on this Premier Art Luster Rag paper with both a dedicated B&W inkjet printer (all black inks) as well as Epson new R2400 in Advance B&W mode. The resulting prints are hard to distinguish from wet darkroom silver prints.

David,
Thanks so much for your reply. I'll give it a try.
Thanks again,
