I am looking for a point and shoot DigiCam that I can carry around most of the time. I have a Canon 20D. The most important aspect I am looking for is minimal shutter lag. Also a large zoom will be nice. I have studied reviews and manufacturer specs but would like some real world photographer experience to help me make a decision. Any and all comments greatly appreciated.

There are so many out there these days.
I would look at the manu's specs on lag time and do a compare on the ones with a suitable zoom and go with the lowest lag specs.

Looking throught all the specs I think the Canon PowerShot S3 IS has the capabilities I am looking for. If anyone has any thing bad to say I would like to know. Thanks

36mm at the wide end isn't nearly wide enough to comfortably shoot groups of people with. That's something I use my CoolPix 8400 with it's 24mm lens for. Personally I would never purchase a pocket camera that didn't offer at least a 28mm lens at the wide end of the zoom range.
