Thinking about buying one or the other, but can't find any reference to a Fill Flash mode. Other brands have this - is it hidden somewhere? D70 instruction manual only mentions Manual mode.
Fill flash with the built in flash, which is usually too weak for anything really important, or fill flash with the SB-800 or SB-600?
No matter what your answer would be, I'd recommend getting the D80 because the D70 is two + years old and the D80 has all the same features and more, including a larger megapixel sensor for higher quality images.
Looking for fill flash mode to use in the sunlight, usually a few feet from the camera. On trhe 70s, I could find no Fill Flash mode at all.
Just set the flash to always be on and it will balance with ambient light for fill. If you find it to be too much light, reduce the output power.
Hey!
I've been so busy I hadn't had a chance to post in quite some time. But hopefully I'll have some extra time now. I was looking online, and Elite Video has released their Nikon D80 Training DVDs. These videos are pretty in depth and they discuss every feature and function of the camera (plus 1 year of free technical suppor...I thought that was a bonus). Anyways, I just thought I would share that. If you're interested you can check out the video at: http://www.elitevideo.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=618
