I have a Nikon D50, and every now and then (more often lately), when switching to any of the 4 manual modes, it acts as if it's in automatic mode. For example, when I press the WB/? button, it brings up the help screen for automatic mode. The other digi-vari modes work fine and show the correct help screens for those modes, however, all 4 manual modes act as if they are in Automatic mode. If I leave the camera for a while, sometimes the problem fixes itself and it acts normally. However, removing the battery, resetting the settings, and turning it off and on do not fix the problem. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have not expirenced this with my D50. Does this issue happen in 'M' mode specifically?

I couldn't figure out what triggered it. I'm wondering if I might have been switching lenses while the camera was on, and maybe that screwed it up?
Anywho, I ended up getting the camera replaced and it hasn't happened with the new camera.
