I would like to buy either a D2x or D2xs. I have a D1x now and just would like the later technology. Is the additional cost of the D2xs worth it or is the D2x a wiser choice. I do mostly people and places.
How important is a camera as sturdy as the D2X(s) to you. If you are a working pro, it would be more important than if you are an advanced amateur or casual shooter. In other words, can you get away with using a D200. The difference in image quality shouldn't be an issue.
You might consider the D200 and invest in the lens. I believe Larry might be right. A photographer I know uses the DX2 and I would bet if you shot in the same conditions witht he same lens there would not be much difference in image quality. Monte.
D2X has a much better auto focus. If you are going pro (specially if you're shooting fast moving objects) with it there is no doubt about it: D2X(s)
D2Xs has some great new features that I wish my D2X had. Better battery (can be used on D2x too), a nice visual cropping in the view finder when using HighSpeed-mode etc.
