D200 Noise - JPG

Having recently played with CS3, I decided to shoot in JPG with my D200 for the first time, and play with the Camera Raw Interface.

...I was horrified when I checked the images. All of my JPGs had an extremely high level of noise. Switching back to RAW, the problem seemed to disappear.

Has anyone else had this problem?

At what ISO were you shooting?

I use the D200 and find it does very well. I have printed 20x24 prints that are sharp. I shoot at 100 ISO. I have not shot at 400 or above but have heard it does have noise above 400.
