I have been using my D-70 for about a year and I am trying to flatten the learning curve by trying to use the various features of the camera.
One such feature is the "spot meter" application. I understand how and why to use a spot meter however I am not sure of how to use the feature in the D-70.
When I am in the "spot meter" function and I focus on my subject do I place the spot meter icon in my view finder on the subject and semi press the shutter which also will do the focusing or is there some other way to acheive its use?
For instance, if I want to put the spot meter on a shadow behind my subject how do I lock in the exposure without changing the focus of my subject?
Any help is appreciated. Don't remember film being this complicated.
