When I type Ctrl+0169 plus more text in Photoshop on my PC, the text appears, but not the copyright mark. In the past this happened sometimes, but now, without any changes in my settings or anything else, it happens all the time. Powering down and restarting doesn't help. Any suggestions would be really welcome.
Frans, I discovered a while back that CTRL+0169 doesn't work unless you're typing the numbers on a numeric keypadl. I don't know if that helps, but one work-around is Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Character Map, select the
Bill,
Yes, typo, of course it the Alt+0169. I know about actions and copying it from the character set, but what bugs me more than anything is the fact that it used to work (not alway, funny enough, but 19 out of 20 times) but not anymore, no matter how many times I try, yet nothing that I know of has changed or been installed.
Frans, I think sometimes unanticipated changes occur with Windows updates. I just had one with the file sharing process between computers on our home network. After years of working flawlessly, all of a sudden I was unable to access shared files on two of our three PCs, both of which run XP. (The third one, running Vista, was unaffected.) It took a lot of searching to find the solution on the Microsoft site, but the fix itself was a relatively simple registry edit, increasing the stack size. It could also be that the files had grown overtime to the point where they overloaded the stack. Seems like a fairly simple fix now, but damn frustrating at the time.
Now, I'm waiting for someone to post the same problem on one of the forums so I can show off my new-found knowledge....
I think it's a memory issue. After clicking with the text tool, wait a few seconds before doing the ALT+0169. I've found that if I start typing immediately, occasionally the first letter doesn't show up and I have to add it after finishing the word.
